AP Exam Information & Registration

This year the registration for AP Exams has moved to the fall. This change was initiated by the College Board (AP program) and is not within the control of Golden High School. Exam dates can be found here: https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/courses/exam-dates-and-fees Exam locations will be announced in April 2020. 

 

There are two steps to registering for an AP Exam, they can be done in either order but must be completed. Exams will not be ordered if both of the following steps are not complete by November 14th.

Step 1:

Exam fees are paid in Jeffco Connect. Each AP course the student is enrolled in has an optional fee of $94 attached to it. Exams covered by the deadlines below are year long and semester 1 classes; exam ordering for 2nd semester only courses will begin in January. The fee schedule is as follows:

  • Through October 31 the fee is $94
  • November 1- November 14 the fee is $114
  • November 15 - March 1 the fee is $154 and is space available only (if there isn’t a seat in the exam room then the student cannot purchase an exam).

If the student qualifies for Free or Reduced Lunch they can apply for an exam fee waiver. This 2019/20 AP Application for an Exam Fee Waiver must be completed and turned in to the Counseling Office no later than October 31st to allow time for processing. If financial assistance is needed and the student does not qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch please contact Sarah Julias at sjulias@jeffcoschools.us or at 303-982-0184 no later than October 31st. If the student decides not to take the exam after it has been ordered there is a $45 cancellation fee and a refund of $49 can be requested from the Financial Office. 

Step 2 (the student must do this step):

You will be provided with a “join code”  by the teacher for each AP class you are attending. Sign in to myap.collegeboard.org using your College Board student account login. This is the same login you use to access your AP scores, PSAT/NMSQT® scores, or register for the SAT®. If you don’t have a student account, click the Sign up link.

Once logged in click the Join a Course or Exam button. Before you do this, make sure you have the join code from your teacher. You’ll need it to join a class section.
